Alabama is ATV country and Bankhead OHV park is a great place to ride your ATV. The park's ATV area is rated as easy and is a fantastic place for younger and inexperienced ATV riders to get some much needed riding skills practice and learn to maneuver their ATVs and build their confidence in their handling skills on their ATV.
The Bankhead OHV Park is maintained by the Bankhead National Forest and as with all National Forest Lands, make sure you have your state approved ATV permit clearly displayed on your ATV and you must have a muffler/spark arrestor installed on your ATV prior to riding on any National Forest lands. This ATV trail is open all year around and has two loops for easy turn back.
The ATV trail isn't that long with only a total of 16 miles consisting of an 11 mile loop and a 5 mile loop, it's a little rocky in some places but lots of sand in others. It's a great place for newer ATV riders to learn different terrain techniques.
There are also bathroom facilities and easy access to the ATV trailheads. This is a great way to spend a day with your ATV buddies. The ATV trail can be looped around several times and even though newer ATV riders will get the most out of this OHV area. Seasoned ATV riders will enjoy the scenary and the easy ride on their ATVs in this area. If you are riding your ATV in the early morning hours you are likely to see the local wildlife residents watching you!
There is a lot of fun to be had when you spend a day at the Bankhead OHV area with your friends.
