This ATV trail was once a railroad gravel mine known as Appleton Lake Park, is now a thriving recreation park that is one mile long, and serves every OHV need. For you the ATVer, it offers narrow trails with lots of rolling terrain, with patches of rough gravel and smooth dirt. These ATV trails are for any skill level of ATVer.
As this article is being written, there is a proposal up for expanding this wonderful recreation area. If passed, it will become even bigger for all of you ATVers to test your skills, with an addition of 157 acres of gravel and pasture lands.
To help preserve and protect these ATV trails, please adhere to the standards put forth by Treadlightly, an organization that promotes the responsible use of lands for recreational purposes. If we all follow the examples of Treadlightly and pack out our refuse, ride the ATV trails responsibly, and learn to navigate streams and riverbeds in the least damaging way possible, these ATV trails, both old and upcoming, will be around and in pristine condition for generations of ATVers to come.
With a place that lets all kinds of OHV vehicles test their riding abilities, safety must be enforced. Watching and staying alert for anything is a must. Riding your ATV in a single file and not side by side is a much safer way to go.
Enjoy your run at Appleton Lake Park, you'll have a blast on your ATV!
