Coconino National Forest is like a second heaven for ATV enthusiasts. There are four different areas of this forest. Each of these offer different types of terrain. ATVers will love the Peaks district, Mormon Lake, Red Rock District, and Mogollon Rim District.
If you are ready to test your ATVing abilities in high altitudes, the Peaks district is the place for you. Here there are mountain forests and open meadows. Another area to ride your ATV in Coconino National Forest is Mormon Lake District. This space gives you another opportunity to get some speed. There are several lakes in this district, so be sure you and your ATV are ready to get a little wet. Splash around for a while, and then dry off while you zip around the wide open fields.
Red Rock District is home to the well known red-rock canyons. This is one of the most beautiful areas in which to ATV. Here is where you test your ATVing skills. The ground is rough and the views are spectacularly distracting.
The last area of ATVing note is the Mogollon District in Coconino National Forest. This area gives ATV riders a well deserved break from the sun. Here, you can travel through thick forests and view the sights and sounds of the various creatures mother nature has to offer.
