Cathy's Creek Motorcross Facility is the one of the most breathtaking places you will ever see when riding your ATV.
This facility is located just five miles outside of Forest City, North Carolina. To get there from Asheville, take Hwy 221 south, go about 8 miles towards Rutherfordton, then take a left onto Hudlow Road. A mile or so after Hudlow Road crosses Hwy-64 turn right onto Whitesides Road at the caution light.
This facility has a real wilderness feel and the ATV trails are kept very natural and well maintained. You will find this is a very family-oriented place, that brings everyone together for lots of fun and good times riding their ATVs and other recreational activities.
Cathy's Creek has several areas that are great for the novice ATV rider to hone their skills and learn good navigation techniques on their ATVs. Safety is a big issue at this facility and no one is allowed to ride without a DOT approved helmet and basic safety equipment such as goggles and gloves.
The track is open every Sunday for practice with a cost of $10 a person or $15 a family. It is monitored very closely and watched for debris or excess dust.
Cathy's Creek was originally built by a couple for their son to practice his ATV driving on. Soon, their simple track expanded into a fun, family oriented place for all ages to enjoy motorcross and ATVing.
The course comes as a breath of fresh air in terms of its design. It is well suited for ATVs and offers nothing that would intimidate or endanger novice riders, while remaining plenty fast for the advanced ATV crowd. The track is plenty wide to allow passing on these one way ATV tracks. Check out Cathy's Creek and spend some quality time with people who love to ride their ATVs as much as you do.
