Taking your ATV on the trails of Flat Rock Trail aka, "Ice Cream Trail" will be a blast with a capital B. The reason for the name Ice Cream Trail is because, it has been a long standing tradition to stop at a local place and have some ice cream after running the ATV trails.
This ATV trail starts around route 2 and goes all the way to Savoy State Forest. It is about 2 and a half miles long, with some of the best flat riding for ATVers.
These ATV trails will test your wits because they are so flat. Speed will become something you will want to do, just be careful. As in all trails, other people will be around, and you are likely to encounter wildlife in the early morning and evening hours, so keep the speed down to where you feel you can control it.
While on this ATV trail, you will notice that it will take you right into Savoy State Forest, this will make for a longer run for you.
Keep safety on the top of your list when going ATVing. Do a complete maintenance check on your ATV before your trip. Make sure things are tight, tires good, and all systems are ready to go.
Wear the appropriate gear, including your ATV helmet and goggles. This is to protect you from debris flying back at you, and in this area of the ATV trails it's a good idea to be wearing long sleeves and boots.
You may not wish to follow the tradition and have an ice cream after a day of ATVing, but definitely make it a point to bring some lunch and water with you on your ATV run.
Enjoy your run at Ice Cream Trail, it's a great time for all.
