Just an hour away from San Jose, Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area has everything to satisfy ATVers, motorcyclists, campers and picnickers alike. The beautiful mountains range in elevation from 660 to 2,425 feet, and that means amazing hills and diverse terrain to satisfy your need for a challenging and fun ATV experience.
With 24 miles of trails in the Upper Ranch area alone, ATV operators won't find a more satisfying ride. Hollister Hills boasts a fenced in motocross track and hosts many special events. In fact, you will want to check event schedules before heading out, to make sure those events don't conflict with your own ATV riding plans.
All ATV and motorcycle operators are asked to register with the park office in order to use the area for the day. ATVs can be operated in the Upper Ranch area only between 8 a.m. and sunset.
So you thought that was pretty good? Well, the Lower Ranch area is even better! Reserved exclusively for ATV and motorcycle use, it is 2,400 acres and about 64 miles of trails and hill climbs. Open for use from sunrise to sunset, you can get out early and practice on the Motocross or exclusive ATV tracks.
Both the Upper and Lower Ranch areas have campgrounds so you can stay for several days of ATV fun. Picnic areas are provided, and the area is a huge draw for ATV enthusiasts. Great for beginners and experienced operators, Hollister Hills is tops on the list of ATV trails and tracks.
Hollister Hills is a family friendly recreation area, and ATVing here is encouraged as a family sport. As such, we always recommend that safety be a first priority and all recommended safety guidelines be followed. Formal safety classes are always a good idea, and will help you to have great ATV riding experiences.
