Tolland State Forest is a great place to take your ATV and ride the trails. This forest offers a diverse amount of fun for your to have on your ATV.
The Tolland State Forest is located in the southern part of western Massachusetts and easy to access. From the east, take Rte. I-90 to exit 3 and follow the signs. From the north or south, follow route 8 to Otis and follow the signs. From the west, take the turnpike to exit 2 and follow those signs.
This is a wonderful place to go ATVing. There is a 1,065 acre reservoir right in the middle of the forest, called Otis Reservoir.
You want to be careful when out ATVing these trails as there is alot of other types of traffic such as hikers, mountain bikers and the occasional horseback rider. If up to it, you might want to camp out with you ATV around Otis Reservoir, just to have more time to enjoy the beauty and great trails this place offers.
Remember safety has to be your number one concern when ATVing. You want to make sure everything, including you, are in tip top shape.
Before every ATV run, make sure you do a complete maintenance check on it. Do an oil change, check the plugs, and make sure the tires are up to another hard pace of the ATV trails.
Wear your helmet, goggles, gloves, and boots, for your protection, while out ATVing. Long pants and shirt will help protect you as well as this area is very densely foliaged in places.
