After you've mastered riding your ATV, you might find yourself feeling a little bit competitive and if you feel the need for speed, you might want to consider racing your ATV.
Motocross races in two or more heats called "motos" and are usually held on closed courses that utilize the natural terrain and some man-made obstacles to keep the rider's on their toes. There are several classes of riders including 50cc for 4 to 8-year-olds on up to unlimited for riders 16 to over 50. This makes motocross an event the entire family can participate in. Points are earned in each moto based on finishing position of the rider and the rider that finishes with the best total score is the winner of the Motocross.
TT (Tourist Trophy)are held on prepared dirt tracks and have left and right turns as well as jumps. Most TTs have qualifying heats to determine who will qualify for the main event and starting position for the main race. The finishing position of the rider in the main event is the winner.
Short Track is a fun and fast dirt racing for your ATV. Short track races are run on ovals shaped out of dirt and are usually only 3/8 of a mile in length.
Cross Country & Hare Scrambles are rugged and rough races and not for the faint of heart. If you have good control over your ATV, this might be the challenge you're looking for. These races are on marked courses over rugged and natural terrain - these races last for hours.
Ice Racing is a fun sport for any ATVer that lives in the colder regions of the country. They are usually short ovals much like the TT races.
