sand dunes have even become famous, having been the backdrop for several

These dunes are some of the largest within the entire United States. They
reach all the way to Mexico from their starting point about 20 miles east of
Brawley, California. That is over 40 miles distance! Lots of people travel to

whopping temperatures in the summer months. The only true winter-related
weather problem is the occasional blowing sand and the annual rainfall is only
about 2 inches.
