If you are looking for an ATV experience that is different and exciting, Discovery Bay is the perfect spot for you. Covered with huge sand dunes and surrounded by coastal Heathland, Discovery Bay is ideal for ATV riders who love rolling through the desert sand, but have wanted to escape the normal terrain that they are used to.
Outside of the somewhat challenging sand dunes and hills there isn't a large amount of things to do with your ATV at Discovery Bay, but there are plenty of non ATV experiences you could enjoy, such as observing the remains of Mt. Richmond; an inactive volcano said to be over two million years old. You could also visit Lake Mombeong, Lower Glenelg National Park, and many other places in the area to get a real look at the beauty of the beach. There are various hotels and camping sites in the area, so you can fall to sleep while taking in the beauty of the ocean and the environment around it.
While riding your ATV on the sand, remember to adhere to the same rules you would while in the forest trails you are used to. Do not drive your ATV while intoxicated, and remember to be courteous to any people and animals that you interact with. The area is home to some wild animals, particularly kangaroos, so be sure to be respectful when you pass them with your ATV, and do not harm or feed them in any way. Also, don't blast any loud music from your ATV, because it could disturb both the other people trying to savor the beauty of the ocean, and it could possibly frighten the wildlife in the area. Be respectful of the land, and do not litter. Treat the land good and leave it looking better than it did when you showed up. Be safe, respectful, and have fun riding your ATV.
