In the past those who have ridden ATV's Have been considered to be land wrecking monsters. Today however, most people know that riders of ATV's are actually mostly responsible citizens just looking have a little bit of fun.
Although this seems to be true in the most part, there are still some that tend to ruin it for everyone else. Most of us use our ATVs to appreciate the land, as well as nature. For those of us that wish to do that, there are usually roads specified for just such occasions.
There is actually a governing agency called the Bureau of Land Managements. This bureau recognizes which piece of land may be used for which purposes. This includes choosing roads and trails for backpackers, mountain climbers, as well as trails for ATV users.
For those of us responsibly riding our ATV's, we can thank the larger expansion of land granted to ATV users to the many organizations and ATV clubs which have dedicated themselves to providing education to all the ATV members, as well as the public. And with more responsible drivers, we can definitely hope to have more areas suited for ATV riders.
For many of us, simply becoming more educated in how to ride your ATV will help dispel the myth that ATV riders are land wreckers. Also help to educate those around you that also ride ATVs. you may want to start a club online for a local group, or even leave fliers at your local ATV dealer. The Blue Ribbon Coalition has a code of ethics which is imperative to follow. In this way we can preserve our natural resources.
Above all else, be responsible. If each of us does our part, then all of the ATV riders can ride the trails for many, many years to come.
