Respect for the land is something that every ATV enthusiast should have. When you ride your ATV on designated trails, you should always stick to those trails. The majority of environments and ecosystems around most ATV trails and riding areas are very fragile.
Tampering with the environment could potentially harm the life of an animal, or that of the land itself. While you use the land with your ATV, do not litter, do not deviate from your trails, do not interact with any animals, and do not partake in any other activities that could otherwise harm of damage the land.
Even if the concerns of the wildlife and the environment do not matter to you, it is in your best interest to respect the land while riding your ATV. If you exploit and abuse trails with your ATV you may get the privilege of riding in that trail taken from you. A lot of ATV trails and areas have been shut down over the years due to extensive abuse to the environment by irresponsible ATV riders. The actions of these few ATV riders that did not respect the land makes people think that all ATV enthusiasts are just as irresponsible. And we all know this is not true. If you do not respect the land while you ride on it with your ATV, you will not have anything to ride on after awhile, so please be respectful of the land and the other riders who are enjoying the same ATV experience that you do. If you are caught going off trail or otherwise violating the environment, you will likely face some serious legal repercussions, and if enough people do it, the trail may be shut down. Remember to respect the land while riding your ATV, and treat it as if it were your own home.
