Riding the McCall Area Snowmobile Trails

Riding the McCall Area Snowmobile Trails

If you are yearning for over 500 miles of well groomed trails to test out your snowmobile for the first time, then the McCall area is the place to be. Their snowmobiling season starts in December and lasts until April. The McCall area trails are located in Southwestern Idaho near the town of McCall. Make sure that you plan your trip accordingly as these trails are only open during daylight hours. You may need more then one day to fully explore this entire snowmobile trail system.

The McCall area offers some of the best snowmobiling trails around and there is plenty of open country to play around on your snowmobile. Snowmobile trails in this area take off from the following towns: McCall, Donnelly, and Cascade. The McCall trail system also hooks up with the Smith’s Ferry system for even more fun trails. This area of Idaho is truly a winter wonderland for anyone who loves the snow and the outdoors.

Before heading out on the trail for an adventure make sure you take a few snowmobile safety precautions. First, don’t drink and drive. This is pretty much common sense and applies to any vehicle whether it be a car or a snowmobile. Second, don’t race your snowmobile, drive at a moderate pace to allow yourself to drive defensively. Third, carry a first aid kit with you just in case of an emergency. Try to avoid snowmobiling across large bodies of water. Dress warmly, if you are snowmobiling most likely it is cold outside. Most importantly do not go snowmobiling alone.

Riding your snowmobile safely will insure a great time and a great ride on the McCall Area Snowmobile Trails.
