There are many items that are simply essential for any snowmobiling excursion. Obviously, one of the most important items you should have with you while snowmobiling is your helmet and other safety gear. This is certainly a must have item, but it is worth repeating. Some other essential items for your snowmobiling excursion include; bandages, waterproof matches, a thermal blanket, a batch of gauze no smaller than two inches, antibiotic ointment, alcohol pads, adhesive tape and scissors. Some other good items to have with you while you are snowmobiling would be a tool kit for minor repairs, a pair of straps, flares, a drive belt, spark plugs, a second copy of your snowmobile's ignition key, a knife with a sharp blade, a flashlight that is in good working condition, an extra pair of new batteries for the flashlight and a compass.
It is also a good idea to take your cell phone with you, in case something happens and you need to call for help.
