Arkansas has a number of regulations that ATVers must follow, such as your ATV must be registered at the Department of Motor Vehicles. No ATVers under the age of 12 are allowed. If you drive you ATV at night, headlights are mandatory. Mufflers are required when riding on publicly managed lands as are spark arrestors. Off-roading is only allowed on designated trail areas. Arkansas has 2 National Forests that allow OHV and ATVing. They are the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests and Ouachita National Forest. There are very few restrictions besides you may ride on the marked and designated ATV trails only. Many areas of trails are being retired methodically so the land can reclaim itself and new trails are opened to allow ATVers to still explore the forests.
