Georgia is an often-overlooked destination for riding your ATV. If you're going on vacation or you happen to be lucky enough to live there, you might find some great riding areas outside your usual destinations.
One of the best things about owning or riding an ATV on vacation in Georgia is the fact that they are very low in the regulations department. You need only have a working braking system and headlights if you're going to be riding at night or in the early morning hours on any Federally managed lands. Additionally, and you do this one anyway, you must wear a helmet and eye protection at all times when operating an ATV. The two national forests areas in Georgia both allow ATV riding. The Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests both have marked and designated ATV riding trails for anyone that loves to get out there and roll with nature. Because riding conditions can change dramatically, always call the Ranger's office before you haul your ATV all the way out there only to find the ATV riding trails are closed. You can reach the Ranger's office at 706 485-3180.
There are also a good number of riding organizations in Georgia. If you live in Georgia and would like to make some new friends that love to ride their ATVs as much as you do, check out some of these fine folks: Durhamtown ATV Riding has a website located at https://www.geocities.com/durhamtownresort and is an actual riding resort where you can ride your ATV to your heart's content as well as fish, hike, hunt and more. This would be a great get-away for the whole family. If you enjoy a wilder ride on your ATV, check out the GA Extreme Riders at https://www.gaxtremeatvclub.com. And last but not least, another great group to explore is The Peach State ATV Riders and their website can be reached at https://www.geocities.com/peachstateatvriders/index.html .
Find some new places to ride your ATV in Georgia or better yet, make some new friends through an ATV riding group and you'll open up a whole new venue of ATV riding excitement for yourself and your family!
