Riding an ATV is fun and it is something you can do with the whole family that doesn't involve staying home, sitting in a room, wasting away watching television or playing video games. Riding an ATV gets everyone out of the house into the fresh air, sunshine and if you choose to go camping, you can all spend some great quality time together.
There are a few irresponsible riders who left their trash, went off trail, ruined trails by going mudding after a rain and otherwise were less than friendly to the environment. In a few areas, this set up some bad feelings towards all ATV riders, even though the majorities of these groups are very environmentally conscious.
Many ATV groups across the country have started State recognized ATV groups that help to get their groups recognized for the positive things that all ATVers do for the various riding lands around the country.
Many groups organize trash pick-ups, safety seminars, importance of safety gear and the proper usage and so much more. These groups are invaluable for the information and civic duties they perform and in some cases, having a state recognized ATV riding group is the only way to get your voice heard when certain riding areas are slated for closing.
If you want to make sure you have a voice in your state, join or organize a state recognized ATV riding group to be sure the lands you love to ride stay open and available for your enjoyment.
