Florida has a lot of beach area and also a good number of densely forested areas that are perfect for riding your ATV. The State of Florida has one National Forest, the Ocala National Forest, and ATVers who "tread lightly" are welcomed with open arms to this venue to ride.
There are great spots for primitive camping and the forest itself is lushly foliaged that makes for a great ride almost any time of year with the usually nice Florida weather. Deer hunting season is December and January, so if you ride during those months, be sure to wear orange and be seen!
The State of Florida has very few restrictions on ATVers. There is no posted minimum age however all ATVers 16-years of age or younger must be accompanied by a licensed adult also on an ATV. All ATVers are required to wear a DOT approved helmet and eye protection at all times when riding their ATVs.
You will need to pay a small fee to the Rangers to ride your ATV in the Ocala National Forest and those fees go for upkeep of the trail systems. If you're looking for a great group of ATVers to join up with :
