There are a good number of fun runs to make all over the state of Georgia on your ATV or motorcycle.
Athens has Ingles Trails, which is over 25 miles of one-way trails. There are a good number of technical downhill runs along with some good rolling terrain. This is a great place to spend a day especially if you're new to the sport as there are very few technical challenges on this trail system.
Iron Mountain Multi-User Trail is a very busy trail system. This trail system is just over 4 miles long and fords the Conasauga River at one point and then passes through a grassy clearing, ending in a forest that opens to a beautiful view of the Cohutta Mountains. You can have a great time on these trails no matter if you're a newer ATVer or an seasoned rider with many excursions under your belt. There are few technical challenges on this trail system, but the reward is in the view at the end of the trail.
There is a camping area located nearby at the Cottonwood Patch camping area where you can set up a primitive campsite for the night. There are no facilities and no trash receptacles in this area, remember whatever you bring in with you, bring out. Follow the good standard put forth by Treadlightly and make every trail you ride better for the next person and keep your old and new favorite riding areas open.
