If you own an offroad vehicle such as an ATV or motorcycle and you live in Georgia or you're planning to visit their soon, there are a large number of short fun day rides they you can take.
Check out Milma Creek ATV Trail as a destination for your next ride. At just over 3 miles in length this is one challenging trail. Many sections of this trail are steep and there are streams that must be crossed. This Trail connects to two other trails, the Windy Gap Trail and Tibbs Trail. There are two trailheads to access this trail, either the base of Grassy Mountain via Windy Gap Cycle Trail, or the top of Grassy Mountain via Tibbs Trail. This trail is for experienced riders only as the steep areas should be attempted only by riders with experiences climbing steep inclines.
Mountaintown Creek in Ellijay is roughly 19 miles long and about half as it is narrow one-way trails. The other half of this trail system is gravel road in a loop trail. There are numerous creek crossings on this trail so be prepared to get very wet. If it's a hot summer day this is a great ride!
If you're looking for a nice easy ride. Try the Ocmulgee River Trail where the trails are wide and will maintained. This trail is heavily used by horseback riders so be aware of a chance encounter with a rider on horseback. These trails are not too difficult for anyone with light experience riding and should be a good scenic ride that all riders enjoy.
An older series of trails that have been rediscovered are located at Ocmulgee Flats Hunt Camp in Suwanee. These trails are currently going through some main roads but they are very accessible. They are gently rolling and great for beginners and can be very narrow at times.
