This ATV trail is open from April 1st to November 30th of each year and by most ATV trail standards, it is on the small side. This is a multi-use ATV trail and you are likely to encounter several different kinds of traffic. Both on machine, horseback and foot.
This is a good place for people newer to the sport of ATVing to learn proper handling skills and defensive driving techniques under easy trail conditions. The ATV trail connects the small city of Tower, Minnesota to a public beach and campground area. This well maintained ATV trail is rated as one of the easiest there is in the area. There are only a few inclines and very few turns. The trail itself is mostly hard packed trail that is almost road like.
If you want to make a long weekend out of riding your ATVs in this area and camping out. Almost any time during the riding season is a great time. Since this is Minnesota, snow is a possibility during the early and late parts of the riding season. Dress in layers for the ultimate in comfort. If you are planning to ride this trail in the early or late part of the riding season, a good rule of thumb would be to call the Trail Management office to make sure the trail is open. This trail doesn't close for much, but they do shut it off when there the weather makes the trails to slippery or snowy to ride.
