At more and more national forest lands are becoming restricted to ATV riding. More and more private facilities are opening that are ATV and motocross friendly. Cathy's Creek located in Asheville North Carolina is just one of those facilities. This off road riding area has a complete wilderness feel and although the ATV trails are very natural they are also very well maintained. This is a very family friendly place and it's a great place to bring the kids to ride their ATVs as well as indulge in other outdoor recreational activities.
Cathy's Creek is very safety oriented and no one is allowed to ride without a DOT approved helmet and basic safety equipment such as goggles and gloves. There are also several areas that are good for younger and inexperienced ATV riders to learn good navigation techniques before they hit the ATV trails. Originally Cathy's Creek was built by a couple for their young son to practice his ATV driving, soon their simple track attracted other people that wanted a safe place to come ride their ATVs and soon, Cathy's Creek was born.
The fee to come ride is just $10 a person or $15 a family. The ATV courses designed for enjoyment of both people new to riding ATV's as well as experienced riders. The tracks themselves are one way but they are wide enough to allow for passing.
