If you're newer to the sport of riding an ATV, and you are looking for an easy trail to ride, check out Green Ridge 4WD Road in the Roosevelt National Forest. This is a very small ATV trail at only 2 miles long but it is also very easy. The riding season for this ATV trail is very short, it is only open from approximately June through September.
A big plus for this trail system is the extremely scenic view of the Medicine Bow Range to the west and this ATV trail will take you past Lost, Laramie and Twin Lakes. Because these trails are rated so easy, you are likely to encounter a lot of traffic during the short riding season. If you happen to be writing your ATV in the early morning or around dusk, you are likely to see a lot of the woodland residents.
The short trail system is ideal for new ATV riders. There is almost no incline and the trails themselves all the narrow are winding and easy to follow. Because this is national forest land they do you ask that you follow the standard set by Treadlightly and ride your ATV in an environmentally friendly fashion. Remember your goal is to leave no trace of your ATV ride.
If you're looking for an easy trail system to spend the day with your friends on, check out an excursion to Green Ridge. This short trail will provide a day's worth of ATV riding fun for you and your friends!
