This magnificent ATV trail begins at the Rio Grande National Forest and travels alongside Medano Creek into the northeast area. While you ride your ATV on the Medano Pass Road, you will cross the creek at various points, which provides for a pretty challenging ride. As you near the end of the trail, things will start to get even harder, as your ATV will cross very steep and rocky slopes. While you climb over these steep slopes with your ATV, you will get an amazing view of the San Luis Valley. The trail ends near the San Isabel National Forest.
Due to the extremely rough and rocky nature of the Medano Pass Road, this is a trail that should only be attempted by experienced ATV riders. When you ride the Medano Pass Road, remember to use all of the normal ATV safety precautions, and be on alert for the trail conditions. Due to the wet nature of most of this trail you must be super cautious with your ATV.
