Davenport ATV trail is a multi-use trail that is a great ride for experienced ATV riders. This is only a moderately difficult trail system, so you can expect to encounter other traffic on this system while riding your ATV.
This trail is only 5 miles and it loops around Davenport Mountain with some moderate grades, and offers scenic views of Nottely Lake. The beginning areas of this ATV trail are ideal for riders accustomed to riding on flat to rolling terrain, such as young, or inexperienced ATVers where they can gain some valuable handling skills and increase their confidence in riding their ATVs.
If you want a more challenging ride, rest assured you will find it here as well. Further down the trail, there are some great places with some steep grades to crawl up on your ATV and some areas that are a little rougher terrain.
Trailblazing is not allowed on these trails and you must stay on the designated ATV trails only. The trails are periodically closed and new trails reopened to allow the vegetation to reclaim itself.
The ATV trail begins at the back end of the parking lot and goes forward around the mountain. Be aware this ATV trail crosses a road at two places. Watch for other vehicles on the road at these crossings.
Since the National Forest Service manages these ATV trails, you need to be sure to have your spark arrestor and muffler in place prior to riding and always wear your DOT approved helmet and goggles to insure you have a safe and fantastic time at the Davenport ATV Trail.
