If you like a rough and ready ride on your ATV, check out the Fort Ripley ATV Trail. This is a wonderful place to bring your ATV, as it is full of riding challenges.
The riding areas vary in their times they are available to ride your ATV on. The southern section of this ATV trail is open all year long, but the northern section is only open from April 1 to November 1 every year depending on the weather.
It is a great place to ride your ATV, as gorgeous pine and oak trees surround the area. It has rough terrain and some steep slopes and winding turns in the trail that will make following this ATV ride a blast. This trail is nearly 23 miles in length; so make sure you and your ATV are prepared. Do a pre-ride inspection and do a complete check up, from the oil to tightening any loose bolts. The tires on an ATV get a lot of abuse; so check the air pressure and the tread.
You are likely to encounter snow in the early and late parts of the ATV riding season in the northern section of the Ripley Trails. If you haven't maneuvered your ATV in snowy conditions before, make sure an experienced ATVer is along to show you the ropes, it isn't hard but it does take care. Fort Ripley will offer up a full weekend of ATVing fun for you and your favorite group of riding pals - put on your gear, check your ATVs and get ready for a great ride on your ATV!
