Sedona Arizona was a very mystical place and the indigenous Indians of the area spoke of magical vortexes in which the Great Spirit would give them messages. People still come from all over the world in search of the vortexes and there are also a lot of great places to ride your ATV in Sedona.
There are two main kinds of ATV terrain in Sedona, hard packed soil and loose, light sand. Make sure you have the right tires for the terrain and choose your ATV ride accordingly. You can ride your ATV in the Coconino National Forest or you can choose to take a guided tour around some of the areas that are off the beaten path in Sedona. If you choose to take an ATV tour, you will get a fully narrated tour and history of the area and bring your camera, as the panoramic views are incredible in Sedona.
The Coconino National Forest has designated areas for ATV riding and the trails are clearly marked so even the newest riders won't have a problem staying on the trail system. The National Forest will require that you have your ATV registered with the State of Arizona if you're a resident or you'll have to show your valid driver's license if you are visiting from another state. You must have a spark arrestor and muffler installed no matter what time of year your ride in the Coconino National Forest.
