16 miles of 4-wheeling fun is waiting for you at Perry State Forest. This is a great place to ride and has a riding season that is open from April 1 through November 30 of each year.
During the early and late parts of the riding season, there is a good possibility that you will encounter snow. Snow is slick and slippery, use the utmost in care when taking your 4-wheeler over snowy terrain.
This entire area was once used for strip mining, so the terrain is rough and rugged and absolutely perfect for taking your 4-wheeler over. Inexperienced 4-wheeler riders or anyone newer to the sport might find this trail system a little too challenging, however if you have been riding your 4-wheeler and you love a good bumpy ride, this is the destination for you.
As in the other State Forests in Ohio, The riding season overlaps the hunting season. If you choose to ride your 4-wheeler during hunting season, be sure to wear your bright orange vest to allow hunters to distinguish you from game from a good distance. You will also need a permit to ride. You will be given a sticker that must be placed in a visible area on your 4-wheeler in order to ride. Before issuing the riding permit, your 4-wheeler will be inspected by park rangers to make sure you have a spark arrestor and noise muffler installed.
Enjoy the curving, winding trails and the opportunities to climb in your 4-wheeler at this fun riding destination.
