Check out the Wambaw Cycle and ATV Trail if you're looking for a new riding destination in South Carolina. It starts off at the Round Pond Trailhead and the sandy trail will lead you to a lush forest of fragrant pines. The trail spans about 40 miles and is shaped like a figure 8. While you ride your ATV at the Wambaw Cycle and ATV Trail you will notice sinkhole ponds and bald cypress, and are likely to notice wildlife, mainly deer and turkey. The trail is designed both for motorcycles and ATVs under 50 inches wide.
It's nonstop fun here as The Wambaw Cycle and ATV Trail is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but note that a working taillight and headlight are needed for night riding. It costs $5 to get a daily pass to the Trail, or $50 yearly. The trailhead contains both a picnic shelter and toilets. While riding your ATV on the trail during hunting season, remember to wear bright clothing, and it is recommended that you do not ride the trail when it is extremely wet.
To get to the Wambaw Cycle and ATV Trail from Charleston, drive northeast on US 17 and turn left on Charleston County S-10-1032. Drive about 5 miles and turn a right on S-10-98 and continue 5 miles to Round Pond Cycle Trailhead on the left, where you may unload your ATV directly at the trailhead.
When you are riding your ATV or motorcycle at Wamba, you will love the lush trails and fun, winding curves. Primitive camping is allowed at various points along the trail in case you want to have a long weekend of riding fun at Wamba.
