The Pike State Forest is comprised of over 11,960 acres and much of this land has been made into trails for 4-wheeling enthusiasts. This fun 4-wheeling destination place is located on State Route 124, just west of the village of Latham. It offers 15 miles of trails to ATVers. It is open from April 1 through November 30 from 6AM until 11PM daily.
Pike State Forest has extremely well maintained trails for 4-wheeling and the trail system will take you through hollows, ridges tops and this is a winding curving trail system. The speed for all the 4-wheeler trails is 30MPH and there is no parking directly on the trail system.
If you decide to take a break, many parts of this trail go beside Anderson Lake. This is a beautiful lake among the hills and trees and a great place to have lunch or even do some fishing.
Hunting season overlaps part of the riding season in this area. Check to make sure if a particular hunting season is on or off before you ride. If you want to ride these trails during a hunting season, make sure to wear a bright orange vest so hunters can identify you apart from the deer or other animal they are hunting.
This is a great place to spend a weekend riding your 4-wheelers and there are designated camping areas located around Anderson Lake where you can enjoy yourself with your friends after a great day of 4-wheeling and if you choose, supper is swimming in Lake Anderson and you can even have a fish fry for dinner!
