If you have ATV riders of varying skill levels in your ATV group, the Wolfpen Gap trail will have a little something for everyone in your group as the trails range from very easy to very difficult. The entire ride is very scenic, with photo opportunities around every corner.
If the weather is looking nice for the weekend, stay and ride with your group. There is camping along with fishing and boating at the very nearby Shade Lake recreation area. You will also find loops throughout the Wolfpen trail that allow you to turn around at any point and head back. This is especially useful for people who are newer to the sport of ATVing and tire easily. This makes their ride just as fun as yours!
Two fun areas to ride around at the Wolfpen are Gap Creek and Board Camp Creek. There are trails around both and after you take your ATV through the dense pine forest in the clearing is a miniature oak tree that stands only 2 feet tall.
The ATV trails at Wolfpen are very popular and also two-way, be sure and be on the lookout for other riders as you ride your ATV in this area. Also be aware there is a Jeep and Truck trail system not far away so you may see a vehicle either coming or going, but the ATV trails are kept separate.
