This ATV trail is located in the Northwest region of Colorado and is part of the White River National Forest. This 4-wheeler trail is multi-use and you may encounter not only other 4-wheeler riders but also horseback riders, motorcyclists, and mountain bikers during the riding season which is all year round.
Even though this is only a moderately difficult 4-wheeler trail, it is never very crowded and therefore is a great place for newer and inexperienced ATV rider to try out the techniques they know and learn new handling skills and maneuvering skills on their 4-wheelers.
This 4-wheeler trail is only about 6 miles long and has an elevation of about 1,120-feet. At the beginning of this 4-wheeler trail are both Sellar and Diemer Lakes, where if you brought your fishing license and your tackle box on your 4-wheeler, stop and see if the fish are biting.
Next, the first half of your 4-wheeler ride will have some good opportunities for dispersed camping opportunities around both of these lakes. As you ride through on your 4-wheeler, a good place to view alpine scenery is at the eastern end of Mid Cunningham Creek Road. This 4-wheeler route provides a challenging side trip from the Hagerman Pass Road. The 4-wheeler road has some narrow, steep and rocky sections that will provide a challenge suitable for many four-wheel drive vehicles with adequate ground clearance.
If you're looking for a great 4-wheeler ride for both the new and experienced riders in your group, check out the Mid Cunningham Unimproved Road as your next riding destination.
