Earlier this year, work began on a network of old roads and trails that will be part of an brand new 4-wheeling park that is coming to Berlin, New Hampshire.
The crews from the State Bureau of Trails broke ground this week at the new state park at Jericho Lake. The current schedule states they are hoping to have at least 25 miles of 4-wheeling trails available for riders by the end of the summer and in August, the first section of trails opened to rave reviews.
The trails are extremely clean and well marked making it easy for even the newest of 4-wheeler riders to follow the trail system. There are some tight turns and muddy areas along with some low hills making this a very fun ride.
The entire building process will take about five years to come to fruition and the entire trail system is expected to be roughly 250 miles of trails. There are plans to build several different types of trails so there will be a riding experience for all 4-wheeling enthusiasts. The easier trails will be closer to the trailhead and as the riding areas are developed outwards the more difficult to most difficult trails will be located there. That way if a newer rider feels they are on a trail that is becoming too difficult, it won't be hard for them to turn and go back.
There are speed limit signs posted throughout the trail system to ensure that all riders go a safe speed at all times. If you're looking for a new place to ride, come check out the newly opened trails at Jerico Lake ATV Park.
