At just over 13 miles in length, Rainbow Hill isn't the largest 4-wheeler trail but it is a very fun place to ride. This 4-wheeler trail system is for intermediate to expert 4-wheeler riders and if you're looking for a good place to see what your 4-wheeler can really do on the rocks in Colorado, this is the place for you to be.
For 4-wheeler riders who enjoy a good technically challenging ride, Rainbow Hill is a great time. This 4-wheeler trail has become increasingly rocky as time has gone by. Some of the trail is exceptionally rough. As you ride up the Rainbow 4-wheeler trail you and your machine will enjoy the challenge and the climb; but be prepared for the trip back down because the pitch of the trail from that angle is enough to make your hair stand on end. If you like your rides steep and very challenging, you will love Rainbow Hill.
There are two nearby places for 4-wheeler enthusiasts to camp while they are hanging out at Rainbow Trail with their 4-wheeler buddies. Coaldale and Hayden Creek Campgrounds are a popular place to stay. Both have basic water and bathroom facilities.
Just remember the standards put forth in Treadlightly. Make sure that anything you pack in gets packed back out with you. Don't be afraid to pick up any extra trash you find, leaving the trail better than when you found it should always be your goal.
If you're ready to see what your 4-wheeler can really do, make plans to visit this trail and have a great weekend of riding and camping with your friends in Colorado.
