You are in for a treat if you are looking for great 4-wheeler trails in San Diego. Not only are there amazing trails, there are plenty of opportunities for incredible sightseeing.
The Corral Canyon Off Road Vehicle OPEN Area is located within the southern-most third of Cleveland National Forest near Morena Reservoir. At the trailhead there is staging for over 12 miles of trails for all types of ORVs. Travel off established trails is permitted within the designated area; however, once outside of this region all vehicles must remain on established roads and trails. This means no exploring or creating new trails, the Parks Service is very militant about that. This area offers challenges for all makes of 4-wheeler rider from everyone from expert to beginner with over 1,800 acres to explore.
The Lark Canyon Off Highway Vehicle Area is located just west of the southern tip of Anza Borrego State Park. The staging area is 5.2 miles north of Interstate 8. This area contains over 30 miles of trails for motorcycles and 4-wheelers of 40 inches or less in width. The area is a limited use area, so all riders must stay on established trails; no cross-country travel is permitted. You must have your green or red stickers prominently displayed on your 4-wheeler at all times.
California has very strict laws regarding 4-wheeler use on their wooded areas. Also leave no traces of your 4-wheeler excursion. Help preserve those lands for future 4-wheeler riders.
