Take some time out so that you can visit some of the amazing 4-wheeler trails in San Francisco. San Francisco doesn't have a lot of local 4-wheeler trails, the closest and best 4-wheeler riding area in the San Francisco Bay Area is the State Vehicular Recreation Area. There may not be a lot of local areas to enjoy your 4-wheeler, but this one makes up for it in size alone.
There are only 6 State Vehicular Recreational Areas in California, and this one is one of the best. This 4-wheeler area has 1,500 acres with challenging hill-type trail riding, and steep hill-climbs. Elevations are up to 1,800 feet. The park also has a four-wheel drive obstacle course and an Observed Trials area. The park has very strict rules about 4-wheeler use of the trails, if you bring it in you must take it out with you.
If your 4-wheeler is a 2003 model or newer you must have a red sticker issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. If your 4-wheeler is older than a 2003 model you will be issued a green sticker. This sticker must be clearly visible on your 4-wheeler at all times or you may be fined. If you are a non-resident looking to ride your 4-wheeler in the SVRA, you will need a non-resident sticker. Again, your sticker must be placed in a clearly visible area on your 4-wheeler.
Summers can be very hot with temperatures reaching 110 plus degrees. Take water with you and drink it often to avoid becoming dehydrated. Have a safe and fun time riding your 4-wheeler at the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreational Area!
