In the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest there is a great set up of two trails in the Lee Ranger District. These trails are narrow and densely wooded and offer a great 4-wheeler ride. The area is extremely well maintained and still has a natural feel. There is abundant wildlife in the area and you will see quite a lot of it if you ride your 4-wheeler in the early morning hours or at dusk.
In Rockbridge County is the Lone Mountain Trail. It's only 2 miles in length but this challenging trail is part of the larger South Pedlar 4-wheeler trails. The Lone Mountain Trail is a 2.0 mile 4-wheeler trail that is part of the South Pedlar 4-wheeler Trail System in Rockbridge County Virginia. The Piney Trail is also part of the South Pedlar 4-wheeler trail and features a looping network of trails the cover it's approximately 19 miles of terrain. This is a great area for beginning 4-wheeler riders to learn to navigate and follow the loops around.
