Colorado has a good number of challenging and steep rides and if the inexperienced 4-wheeler riders are feeling a little left out, the Dodgeton 4-wheeler Trail will make them feel like they have their own trail just for themselves! The Dodgeton 4-wheeler trail can be found in South Central Colorado, about twelve miles south of La Veta. This trail is barely over 3 miles in length and is part of the San Isabel National Forest. As with most National Forest lands, these are multi-use trails and you will be sharing them with people who are biking, hiking, horseback riding, motorcycle riding and more.
The Dodgeton 4-wheeler Trail begins at the trailhead of Spring Creek, which contains restroom facilities as well as a parking lot for convenient loading and unloading of your 4-wheeler. The trail is of very easy to moderate difficulty, offering up a slight challenge for the beginning 4-wheeler rider, but it should be a piece of cake for more experienced riders. You will have to cross Dodgeton Stream drainage at two points in the trail, which is the most challenging aspect of this 4-wheeler trail. If 3.5 miles just isn't enough 4-wheeler trail for you, the Dodgeton 4-wheeler Trail joins with the Indian Creek, Baker, and Shortcut trails at various points to offer you further terrain to explore.
You will be able to loop the routes with these trails while riding your 4-wheeler, so finding your way back to the trailhead should not be a problem. Have fun riding the Dodgeton 4-wheeler Trail!
