If you're looking for some easy 4-wheeler trails that beginners won't feel too challenged on and yet different kinds of terrain, check out the RJ Dorer State Forest in Minnesota. This State Forest's riding areas are managed by two different OHV agencies. The Snake Creek Management Unit OHV Trails and Trout Valley Management Unit OHV Trails. The Snake Creek Management section of the RJ Dorer 4-wheeler trail system is open from May 1 - November 1. Call before you haul and make sure snow hasn't closed the trails. The Snake Creek Managed trails are only 13-miles long and have a lot of flat lands to ride your 4-wheeler on. The trails are very well maintained and nearly road-like making them ideal for newer and inexperienced 4-wheeler riders to learn good navigation and handling skills for their 4-wheelers.
The Trout Valley Managed section of the 4-wheeler trail is only 7-miles in length. One of the boons of riding this section of the trail is if you bring your fishing gear and fishing permit along for the 4-wheeler ride, you can stop at Trout Creek and drown a few worms and maybe even have trout for dinner that night. This is a 4-wheeler trail system that although small, has a lot of photogenic areas and will make a great day of 4-wheeler riding with your friends. There are numerous designated areas for camping.
These are fantastic trail systems for newer 4-wheeler riders to hone their maneuvering skills on as well as allowing seasoned 4-wheeler riders to just enjoy a relaxing ride. If you're looking for a weekend of easy 4-wheeler riding fun, check out the RJ Dorer State Forest Trails in Minnesota on your next outing.
