You are sure to benefit from a great ride on your 4-wheeler at the Mill Creek Park 4-wheeler trail. Mill Creek Park 4-Wheeler Trails are around 15 miles of trails located within this 4-wheeler park. Mill Creek requires a waiver and a permit prior to riding your 4-wheeler. The waivers are available for $4 - $6 depending on if you will be riding your 4-wheeler within the District or outside the District. Additionally, you will need to show a permit that can be obtained through the Department of Motor Vehicles. The permits are $11 if your 4-wheeler is titled in the State of Illinois, and $18 if the 4-wheeler is titled outside the State. The trails are randomly patrolled and any 4-wheeler rider found without the proper documentation to be riding within the park, will be subject to a minimum $100 fine. That $18 for the permit isn't looking so bad now, right?
When the ground is very wet and riding your 4-wheeler could damage the trails, the Park will be closed to 4-wheeler riding. Call ahead before you make the trip and verify the park is open. Also, the 4-wheeler trails start roughly 2.5 miles into the park, make sure you have a way to transport your 4-wheelers to the trails. Helmets are required, even though you would never dare to ride your 4-wheeler without one!
You must stay on the 4-wheeler trails and the Park has a strict policy against trailblazing. Because of the danger of fires, all 4-wheelers must have mufflers or spark arrestors that are federally approved. Mill Creek Park has a lot of rules for 4-wheeler use, but it's a beautiful place with a lot of great trails to explore nonetheless.
