This area is actually famous for its overlooks and 4-wheeler riders will have the opportunity to get great views of Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, as well as the Sawatch and Gorge Ranges, Camp Hale, and Homestake Peak. There are also three very old cabins along the way that are considered historic sights. The beginning of this 4-wheeler trail can eat 4-wheeler riders up with bug bites in the warmer months so be sure to pack plenty of bug spray.
This can be a particularly steep trail so it's best to keep some important 4-wheeler guidelines on mind. Do not ride closely on the tail of the 4-wheeler in front of you. It's completely possible that the other 4-wheeler rider may lose some traction, and you don't want your 4-wheeler to be the first thing behind him. Keep your 4-wheeler in low gear and take your time. You're riding on one of the more difficult 4-wheeler trails, so be sure you have enough 4-wheeler skills to maintain safety for your whole crew and never leave the marked 4-wheeler trail.
The season on this 4-wheeler trail runs from summer through fall. Other things to do in the Ranch Creek 4-wheeler trail area are 4 wheeling, motorcycling, and mountain biking.
