Riding your 4-wheeler in the Lee Ranger District is a place you will want to go back too. The reason? History - these trails are some of the same lands that George Washington surveyed in the 1700s and later Stonewall Jackson. If you are an American History buff, you will get more than a great ride out of these 4-wheeler trails.
For finding your way, the best solution is with a map. There are several ways to obtain a map for your 4-wheeler ride. One of the best is called the Massanutten & Great North Mountain. It is a well illustrated map that covers the entire area with all the information you will need for a great ride on your 4-wheeler. You have to remember, these trails are so vast and so very different from each other. Your experience level in riding your 4-wheeler and your how developed your handling skills are in the sport of 4-wheelering will determine which trail to take.
Pack some food and water, with a fist aid kit as well. Cell phones are able to find signal at most of the higher points in this area but in the lower areas, all signal may be lost. These 4-wheeler trails are mostly fairly easy to navigate but have a few challenges and very steep inclines are various points along the way. If you are a newer 4-wheeler rider, definitely have someone more experienced along for the ride to show you proper techniques for taking on the steeper hills and inclines, to insure you learn proper handling of your 4-wheeler and you will avoid an accident through simply not knowing proper techniques for controlling your 4-wheeler.
