There is a place located within the Wenatchee Forest that has some great 4-wheeling. It's located within the forest and just under half of the area is designated as true wilderness the other half is designated for multiple uses such as hiking, biking and of course, 4-wheeling. If you're tired of just trail riding on your 4-wheeler, this will be a great break for you to take the time to explore the wilderness and tread some 4-wheeler trails that do not get a lot of traffic. The wilderness areas are so primitive there are no features or any roads available and you can expect to do a lot of light climbing on your 4-wheeler - it's not for beginning riders but more experienced 4-wheeler riders will have a blast in this area.
In the bulk of the area, you can find timber-harvesting going on, livestock grazing, woodcutting, camping, horseback riding, and all makes of ORV and 4-wheelers there. There are also over 100 campgrounds located in the area and they include primitive tent sites to parking lots with RV hookups. There is, overall, at least a total of 13,000 possible campsites available and some are free and some areas charge a small fee.
Getting down to the nitty-gritty, there are about 2,500 miles of recreation trails for 4-wheeler riders to enjoy. You will need to get a permit to ride your 4-wheeler in this area but even though there are six ranger districts, you will only have to get one sticker to ride in all six areas and the riding passes are good for a week. This is a great place to spend a week's vacation with the family, or, even better, set up a multiple 4-wheeler family outing!
