As if Hawaii isn't paradise enough with it's blue skies and sandy shores, you can also indulge in your passion for off road exploration and do so with a great group of dedicated 4-wheeling enthusiasts. This 4-wheeler club nestled in the middle of Hawaii, provides 4-wheeler enthusiasts with a riding experience you just can't get anywhere else.
ATV Riders of Hawaii was formed in 2001, with the goal of actively pursuing legal riding areas on the big island for the enjoyment of all 4-wheeler enthusiasts. This club believes that it is crucial for the sport to present 4-wheeler riders in the best possible light. They achieve this by promoting responsible 4-wheeler riding and following safety rules and environmental guidelines like those typically found at Treadlightly.org.
By abolishing the negative preconception of 4-wheeler riders as irresponsible hot dogs who wreck the natural flora and fauna and putting the sport in a positive light, this club hopes to expand the 4-wheeler hobby as a family sport. The ATV riders of Hawaii currently get together about every six weeks, and membership is open to families and singles. Yearly dues range from $10-$15.
The club's 4-wheeler website has a breathtaking gallery of photos that give you a tantalizing taste of what 4-wheelering in paradise is like. There are also plenty of links to popular 4-wheeler publications and The ATV Safety Institute.
