In order to ride your 4-wheeler in the state of Pennsylvania you must have your vehicle registered with the state's recreation management agency, which requires a small fee that varies county to county. Riding your 4-wheeler on any type of paved road is completely prohibited in Pennsylvania, except for when you are crossing highways. Another thing that the state requires is that you wear your safety helmet at all times while you are riding you 4-wheeler. Wearing you helmet is simply common sense, but those who are caught not wearing one will suffer legal repercussions, mainly in the way of a large fine. The minimum age requirement for 4-wheeler riding in Pennsylvania is 16, though children 10 and older are allowed to ride on public land, and all persons 10-16 are required to have a safety certificate in order to ride.
