Trying to come up with something fun, friendly AND safe for the kids to do during the holidays can give parents a major headache. Short of taking them on an expensive holiday overseas or in another state, how about striking something in between. How about a Kids or Youth ATV party? Listen, it’s really nothing fancy and it’s definitely not expensive but for the kids, they’re going to have a ball there especially youth. The younger kids will have loads of fun too but you might want to consider leaving the ‘camping’ part of the ATV party out of the picture.

The place
This country is irrefutably blessed with as many ATV riding places as we can ever dream of. It’s not possible for one person to finish riding all the ATV trails that we have; therefore, you’ll be spoilt for choice as far as ATV trails and campsites is concerned. But this also means that it would be difficult sifting through all the information and deciding on just one. You can do what we do, then, which is to log onto the Internet, find an ATV forum, register and start asking around. Getting comments and feedback from others is the fastest way to finding the answer that you’re looking for. Once you’ve found your ATV trail, next thing to do is to plan your ATV party trip.

What’s the itinerary of the ATV party going to be like?
That’s easy….lots of riding but what about mornings, in-betweens and also at night. Youth would definitely prefer to camp out, so, find an ATV trail with convenient and nearby campsites. How about barbeque au naturale? Or if there’s a town nearby, you can take the youth and kids out to town on their ATVs if the state allows so. Anyway, get creative and try to find out as much as you can about what you can do at the ATV trail and nearby.

How many days is it going to be, who to invite and send the invitations out
Before working out all the other stuff, you should decide on how many days you want the ATV party to last. If it’s a long holiday, you can probably stretch it out to a week (if they can take the beating) but usually, we try to work the ATV party into a convenient weekend. Two days isn’t all that long and at least the kids get to do something unique on their ATVs. Once you’ve got this worked out, start discussing the invitation with your kids, print it out on your computer and send it out! Time to get the ATV party rolling.

Get the kids involved in planning the Youth ATV party
Don’t just sit there planning the Youth ATV party all on your own. overall, it would work better (and easier) for you if you got the kids involved. Assign them tasks on finding information, calling people and confirming attendance of their friends. Stuff they can’t get into trouble doing. Make them call a couple of ATV safety trainers too, to see if the trainer is willing to give ATV safe riding lessons during the party.

Rent ATVs on location, call and discuss pricing with ATV rental shop before heading over for bulk rental package
Some people think that organizing an ATV party means that each and every one of us will have to haul our ATVs along for the ride. While it’s possible but why shorten our own lives with such a cumbersome idea? Just give a local ATV rental company to see if they have a package deal for renting in bulk. Unless the youth is particular about the kind of ATV he rides during the ATV party, rent one on location before heading over.
